"You" was originally recorded by the Pat Metheny Group on the CD Speaking of Now. This ballad is a very emotional piece of music that features trombone (primarily), alto saxophone and trumpet. The lush, slow-moving harmonies and orchestration support the soloists until the entire ensemble takes over with a marvelous, "triumphant" phrase that is really something to hear. The piece ends in a quiet, pensive way. This is one of Pat's most beautiful melodies. 5-4-4-4
