This incredible arrangement by Quincy Jones of "Walk, Don't Run" was recorded by the great Count Basie Orchestra on their album Hits of the 50's & 60's - This Time By Basie. It is set as a medium-up swing and has amazing ensemble writing with very playable rhythms and ranges. There is solo space for tenor saxophone and piano (piano solo is written out). The arrangement culminates in a smokin' shout chorus (with drum solo fills) before taking it to the end. A must-have for your big band library! 5-4-4-4
