The Kansas City Suite, composed by Benny Carter, was recorded by the Count
Basie Band in 1960 ("Kansas City Suite - the Music of Benny Carter"). It is
comprised of ten marvelous pieces, each different in style and tempo, but
all very much in the "Basie Bag."  Every one of the charts is playable by
most bands and should be an integral part of any school jazz library. For

The titles and grade level of each piece are as follows:
Blue Five Jive - Grade 4 (moderately easy)
Jackson County Jubilee - Grade 4-5 (more difficult)
Katy-Do - Grade 2 (quite easy)
Meetin' Time - Grade 2 (quite easy)
Miss Missouri - Grade 3 (easy)
Paseo Promenade - Grade 3 (easy)
Rompin' at the Reno - Grade 4 (moderately easy)
