Tadd Dameron's ballad "If You Could See Me Now" receives sensitive and thoughtful treatment in this arrangement by the great Bill Holman. Trumpet (or flugelhorn) is featured throughout. The ballad (with a bit of swing feel) chorus evolves into an improvised section. This is "interrupted" by the full ensemble with a swinging, double-time. The soloist continues in this feel until the ensemble once again takes over with a wonderful, strong statement with a return to the ballad feel/tempo. There is a cadenza near the ending for the soloist, followed by a lovely ending. No one writes an instrumental feature better than Bill Holman. You need this one in your library. 5-4-4-3
